Privacy
NoHills has no accounts. Nothing you do here is tied to you.
Location
Route searches send only the coordinates of the points you choose (start, destination, stops) to our own routing server, which computes routes and keeps no record of requests. The live position dot, when you turn it on, runs entirely in your browser — your position is never stored and never sent anywhere.
On your device
Preferences (units, toggles), saved routes, and whether you've seen the intro are stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing site data removes them. Shared-route links contain the route inside the link itself; opening one sends the link's route shape to our server only to compute its elevation profile, and no record is kept.
Usage statistics
We count feature usage in aggregate — how often routes are generated, which options get used — with self-hosted, cookieless analytics (Plausible). No cookies, no advertising identifiers, no IP addresses stored, no individual profiles; there is no way for us to see any one person's activity.
Feedback
If you send feedback, the text you write is stored so we can read it. Nothing else is attached to it — see the note on the feedback form.
